YouTube, Universal plan new music video site

YouTube is teaming up with Universal Music to launch a new video site.

Apparently, Universal has decided that high-class music videos just don’t belong in the same league as clips of sneezing pandas and skateboarding dogs. The new site, Vevo.com, will launch later this year and will contain every music video ever released by Universal.

I’m not quite sure why this big music label wants to move away from YouTube, but I guess it’s no weirder than anything else that goes on on the web every day. I mean, come on. Have you SEEN the Star Wars kid? (If, by some miracle, you haven’t, I’ve helpfully included the video below).
