So this week we’re tackling Pixar’s “Up,” an animated comedy about an old man, a random kid, his talking dog, and a floating house. By tying thousands of balloon to his home, septuagenarian Carl Fredricksen sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America. Right after lifting off, however, he learns he isn’t alone on his journey, since Russell, a wilderness explorer 70 years his junior, has inadvertently become a stowaway on the trip, along with his dog, Dug. This movie looks absolutely fantastic.

Totally in agreement there. I am a huge Pixar fan and this one looks as good as the others. This seems like more of a crazy adventure, and is apparently one of Pixar’s funniest movies to date. Big news on UP — it got its first negative review. Apparently, New York critic Armond White doesn’t like good movies. In the past he has given negative reviews to Star Trek, Milk, Slumdog Millionaire, The Dark Knight, Iron Man, There Will Be Blood, and Zodiac. Bedtime Stories, however, won his praise.

After you brought him up, I looked up this Armond White character. What a waste of my time. Seriously, this guy just wants to be different for the sake of being different. If he listens to music, he probably doesn’t listen to any bands that people like just because they are well liked. This is a good sign for UP. Not only that, the visuals from this movie look spectacular. Pixar really took it up a notch with the animation of this film.

Yeah it’s gonna be great visually. I hear it doesn’t matter whether you see it in 3D or the newly obsolete 2D. I think everyone will enjoy this one.
That’s all we got for this week. Same time, next week.
