It’s a great day for a local moron.

Richard Hatch, the Newport man who won the first season of Survivor, was released from jail in Bournemouth, Mass. this morning. After winning $1 million on the reality show, Hatch then kinda sorta forgot that he had to pay taxes on that prize.

He was first released on house arrest over the summer, but then his ass got sent back to jail because he kinda sorta forgot that he wasn’t allowed to talk to the media. Oops.

But at least he used his illegal interviews well. Before he got carted back to the slammer, Hatch told Matt Lauer that he was convicted because he’s gay, and it had nothing to do with the fact that he broke the law. Good one, Survivorman.
