11/18: Morning dose of sports

Not much happened locally in the sports world yesterday, but that doesn’t mean stuff still didn’t go down.

- Kansas City starting pitcher Zack Greinke won the American League Cy Young Award after a great season where he went 16-8 with a 2.16 ERA. He struck out 242 batters en route to the award. Seattle Mariners hurler Felix Hernandez came in second place.

- The Buffalo Bills fired Dick Jauron and promoted Perry Fewell to interim head coach. Jauron was 24-33 at the helm for the Bills over three years. The Bills are 3-6 this season and most recently lost 41-17 to the Tennessee Titans.

- Larry Johnson was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals. Johnson was cut earlier this week by the Kansas City Chiefs due to some misbehavior issues. Johnson will come in and replace the injured Cedric Benson.

- The top two men’s college basketball teams in the country faced off last night, and both pulled off close wins. Number one Kansas beat Memphis 57-55 and number two Michigan State squeaked by Gonzaga 75-71.

Have a great day!
