The ban only covers the Diocese of Providence, meaning that, while Tobin reportedly instructed local diocesan priests to refuse the Congressman Communion, he will still be able to receive it outside of Rhode Island.
Meanwhile Tobin has expressed that he has “no desire” to discuss the spiritual disagreement in public, but says: “I will absolutely respond publicly and strongly whenever [Kennedy] attacks the Catholic Church, misrepresents the teachings of the Church, or issues inaccurate statements about my pastoral ministry.”
Kennedy is a member of the iconic Kennedy family, one of the America’s most famous Roman Catholic families. [NECN]

Excellent! It’s about time the catholic church “mans up” about this issue. Quit being such wishy-washy whimps and hold these CINO (catholic in name only) rep’s accountable.
Good job!
Apparently, it’s time to start taxing religious institutions—they obviously refuse to accept the separation of Church and State.
Apparently Wayne has no concept of what he is saying. Show me, Wayne, where it says there is a separation of church and state in the constitution?
Please show me.
The fact that the bishop is using holy communion as a “political weapon” is totally disgusting.
One has to wonder if the bishop knows what it means to be a follower of Jesus and his teachings.
Yeah Rick, ’cause we all know that Jesus would be right there with surgical implements snipping the legs and arms off those li’l bastards growing in that womb, right?
You sir, are an R-tard to think you know what Jesus would be doing. I don’t even ascribe to that knowledge.
Hmmm…maybe Jesus would chemically burn to death those “things” growing, eh? Here, take a look at these hilarious abortion photo’s: http://www.circleofprayer.com/abortion-pictures57.html
Bet you can’t do it.
[...] Bishop Thomas Tobin has apparently banned Patrick Kennedy from receiving communion because the congressional rep (my district–woot!) is pro-choice. [...]
