The New Oxford American Dictionary has chosen a brand new Word of the Year.
I love these stories because it always seems like I report on it every year.
This year the winner is “unfriend.” Oxford defines this verb as the action of removing someone as a “friend” on a (or any) social networking site.
Another words in the running included “sexting”. So for people who are learning English, the world now knows we prioritize fake, internet friendships and texting innapropriate messages and images.
God bless America.
