(Metro) Enrollment in state universities is the highest it’s been since 1992. Together, the University of Rhode Island, Rhode Island College and the Community of College of Rhode Island have reached a record high of nearly 43,500 students. State education officials are citing the impact of the recession and high unemployment rates.
