Theater Beat brings the “RAIN”

theaterbeat2For the week of November 20th-November 27th, 2009.

Opening:

RAIN: A tribute to the Beatles @ PPAC
Playing November 27th-November 29th, 2009
RAIN, the acclaimed Beatles concert, returns by popular demand! They look like them and they sound just like them! “The next best thing to seeing The Beatles”. All the music and vocals are performed live! RAIN covers The Beatles from the earliest beginnings through the psychedelic late 60’s and their long-haired hippie, hard-rocking rooftop days. RAIN is also multi-media, multi-dimensional experience…a fusion of historical footage and hilarious television commercials from the 1960’s lights up video screens and live cameras zoom in for close-ups. I would check this out because you can sing along with your family and friends to “Let It Be,” “Hey Jude,” “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” “Come Together” and “Can’t Buy Me Love,” and relive Beatlemania from Ed Sullivan to Abbey Road!

A Christmas Carol @ Trinity
Playing November 20th-December 27th, 2009
Celebrate the magic and wonder of the holiday season with this beloved New England holiday tradition! It seriously it. Trinity’s Christmas Carol has been playing FOREVER. Appealing to young and old alike, this timeless tale of the power of forgiveness is a welcome reminder of the magic the holidays bring. Timothy Crowe stars in the role of Scrooge. I know I’ll be there this season!

@ Perishable
1. Blood From A Turnip on November 20th, 2009
Rhode Island’s oldest late night puppet salon!
Enjoy the salon that has lasted longer than some marriages.
&
2. Live Bait: True Stories from Real People on November 27th, 2009
Check them both out. Perishable is an amazing space with some pretty far-out, cool, and forward-thinking theater.

Now Playing:
RENT @ PPAC
Closes November 22nd, 2009
Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp, stars of the original Broadway production and film adaptation of Rent, reprise the roles they made famous in this exciting new tour! See my podcast with Mirage here!

Shooting Star @ Trinity
Closes November 22nd, 2009
A young man and woman fell in love in college, and promised each other they’d change the world. Twenty years later, they meet unexpectedly in a snow-bound airport.

See you at the theater!
