The University of Georgia is in the doghouse with PETA or, the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals. They asked the school to replace its mascot, a bulldog, with a “”dog-like” robot.

Uga the VII, a real dog, died last week of a heart attack. The organization asked the school to replace the deceased bulldog with an animatronic one, or with a person in a costume.

PETA argues that purebred bulldogs are prone to breathing problems and subjecting the mascot to hot and humid conditions isn’t healthy for the animals.

I feel like U. of Georgia is not going to care. I think I heard they eat bulldogs in the South or something.
