More Rhode Islanders on Medicaid

Rhode Island’s Medicaid programs are straining under the tough economy. The Providence Journal reports the Medicaid rolls grew by more than a thousand people in the second half of last year. Now state officials are raising their cost estimates by 17 million dollars – an amount the Carcieri administration hopes to make up with midyear budget fixes.
