The brother of Providence Mayor David Cicilline has been released from a halfway house in Boston. John Cicilline, a former criminal defense lawyer, was serving a sentence for shaking down drug-dealing clients. He was sentenced in September 2008 to 18 months in federal prison after reaching a plea agreement with federal prosecutors. He was previously imprisoned at Fort Devans in Massachusetts.
