Last night’s Super Bowl has scored a historic ratings touchdown.

The Nielsen Company reports 106.5 million people tuned in to see the Saints beat the Colts 31-17. 68 percent of American households that had a TV set turned on were watching the game.

The game beat the former Nielsen record-holder, the finale of MASH in 1983.

In other Super Bowl news, the city of New Orleans will honor the victorious Saints with a parade tomorrow.
