There’s finally an easy way to see some Oscar-nominated films that we common folk usually don’t get our hands on, and you can see them all in one place. The Cable Car Cinema is screening some films from the more indie Oscar nomination categories. Tonight, they’ll be showing films from the Short Animation category. Screening begins at 9pm, tickets are $9. Here’s a little sneak preview if you just can’t wait.

Many people think they’d die without their electronics, but have you ever wondered about what would happen to your electronics if you died? Dead Man’s Cell Phone is Trinity Repertory’s latest play is a comedy about… you guessed it, a dead man’s cell phone. A woman picks up the man’s phone and discovers the power its connections & secrets have. Show starts at 7:30, tickets are available at the Trinity Rep box office. It runs now through March 28.
Saturday
Head to The Wheelhouse Tavern in Narragansett to hear Harmony Sleeps Around. Their folksy rock tunes that are perfect for low key rainy night that we’re expecting. Order food, listen to the show, and hang at the tavern all evening while staying cozy and dry.
