A colony of rabid cats may be terrorizing Providence. Last week, a stray cat attacked two people: a garbage collector on Wednesday and the city’s animal control officer on Friday. The cat tested positive for rabies. City officials believe the cat may be a part of a wild hoard of 40 rabid cats that is roaming through Providence’s west end.
