Governor Chafee will head to Israel in November to promote economic ties with Rhode Island. Chafee announced the trip Monday during a Statehouse visit with Israel’s Consul General to New England, Shai Bazak. Chafee says Israel’s booming, high-tech economy is a good market for Rhode Island exports. The eight-day trade mission will include several Rhode Island business leaders and will focus on key sectors of the economy like defense industries, high-tech manufacturing and life sciences. Chafee will be the first governor to lead a trade mission in 15 years.
