Ovech-kind? …I think not.

There’s a reason Alexander Ovechkin is not the face of the NHL, and there’s a reason why he never will be.
And that reason is here—right before our very eyes—and now it’s time for us, the beloved fans of the NHL, to finally open them and see it.
In a star-studded game between the Washington Capitals and [...]

What the Puck?? Yummy Stanley Cup Edition

Do you dare? I warn you, this blog will amaze you, disgust you, and maybe even make you cry (okay, so hopefully not that last one). But! Consider yourself warned…and make sure to stop by next week…if, of course, you can handle it!
March 7 – March 13, 2010:
In a week that sees teams fight for [...]

You Can Never Count Out the Devil…

Any day deemed as ‘Lip Balm Giveaway Day’ is deemed to be just a tad bit out of the ordinary. And for your Providence Bruins, that was today. After falling to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers earlier this weekend, the P Bruins were ready to jump right back into the thickets of the playoff race with [...]

What the Puck?? …the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly in the NHL

Do you dare? I warn you, this blog will amaze you, disgust you, and maybe even make you cry (okay, so hopefully not that last one). But! Consider yourself warned…and make sure to stop by next week…if, of course, you can handle it!

O Canada, O Canada, How I Envy Thee…

One shot. One goal. One moment.
They’ve all dreamed of this very moment from the beginning of time: Gold Medal game. At home. Overtime. U.S. vs. Canada. The puck’s on your stick.
But only one can be the hero. Only one can lift a nation upon its shoulders, and carry it to everlasting happiness. And that man, [...]

P-Bruins lose shootout to Crunch 7-4

Winger Alexandre Picard had a hat trick, leading the Syracuse Crunch to a win over the Providence Bruins, with a final score of 7-4. Mike Blunden had two goals for the Crunch, while ex-Bruin Jonathan Sigalet also knocked a shot home. Derek MacKenzie and Mike Ratchuk were the other visiting goal-scorers. Syracuse capitalized on Bruin [...]

Don’t Look Now…Turning point for your P-Bruins?

On a day when the nation stayed home for Super Bowl Sunday, your P-Bruins most certainly did not.  After a rare 5-3 win against the 1st place divisional rival Worcester Sharks, the P-Bruins followed up—less than 24 hours later—with yet another strong showing…to say the least. These tired Bruins came out gunning from the very [...]

P-Bruins Shark bitten, lose 3-2

In what was supposed to be a seemingly easy win against the last place team in their division, the Providence Bruins were unable to withstand a 3rd period surge by the Worcester Sharks. The Sharks entered the game having lost seven straight games and did not have their regulars out on the ice due to [...]

P-Bruins beat Springfield Falcons 5-2

With no more call-ups or call-downs expected from Boston anymore, the P-Bruins played an agressive, fast game last night at the Dunk. On numerous occasions the Bruins were able to get numbers in transition, and while they could not break through in the 1st period, a powerplay goal by Jamie Arniel in the 2nd period [...]

Bruins call up Marchand, Sobotka, and Lefebvre

Boston Bruins recall forwards Guillaume Lefebvre, Brad Marchand and Vladimir Sobotka from the Providence Bruins and place forward Milan Lucic on Long Term Injured Reserve.
Lefebvre’s recall is on an emergency basis.  Lefebvre was invited to Bruins’ training camp on a tryout agreement, and he impressed enough during the preseason to warrant the early call up.  [...]
