Pat Cash Repeats in Newport

Pat Cash defeated American Jim Courier 6-3, 6-4 to win the Champions Cup at the International Tennis Hall of Fame.  For the second year in a row, Cash defeated Courier for the title in Newport.  Last year, Cash won 6-4, 6-3.

Tennis Hall of Fame Puts Newport on the Map

This week, the tennis world’s eyes turned to Newport and the International Hall of Fame.  The week featured an ATP tennis tournament, with Americans Sam Querrey, Robby Ginepri, Taylor Dent, Kevin Kim, and Rajeev Ram and Frenchmen Fabrice Santoro and Sebastian Grosjean making up just part of the draw.

NEWPORT– Rajeev Ram upset fellow American Sam Querrey to win the Campbell’s Hall of Fame Tennis Championships.  Ram lost the first set in a tie break, but came back to win the next 2 7-5, 6-3 to capture his first ATP title.  Ram says it’s a big deal to get his first title.
