Halifax, MA teen still missing
The hunt continues for a Halifax, Mass. teenager missing since Saturday in New Hampshire’s White Mountains.
Scott Mason left on a planned one-day, 17-mile hike on Saturday. His mother says he is an experienced hiker, but did not bring overnight gear with him on the trip. Some 18 officers are thought to be searching for him.
Gas prices up in MA, RI
Gas prices are up again slightly in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
AAA of Southern New England says a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded in the Ocean State is $2.08. In the Bay State, the average is up to $2.01.
It’s the first time since November that the average price in Massachusetts has passed $2.
No swine flu cases in New England
Health officials are saying there are no confirmed cases of swine flu in New England.
In Massachusetts, officials say they’ve tested about two dozen cases in accordance with guidelines set by the CDC. None of those cases has tested positive for the H1N1 virus, which has killed more than a hundred people in Mexico.
Police say they have suspected Craigslist Killer in custody
UPDATE: Boston police say they have a man in custody in connection with the death last week in a luxury hotel of a woman who advertised massage services on Craigslist. Police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll did not immediately have any other information about the man Monday.
